How do you catch cheating?
We have a constantly evolving set of methods that identify cues that a student may be using forbidden resources during an exam. After the exam is finished, a human proctor will review the exam attempt. Based on recorded data, the proctor decides which activities to bring to an instructor's attention. What OS and browsers are supported?
We support Windows Vista, 7, 8, and Mac OS X 10.9, 10.8, and 10.7. We highly recommend using Google Chrome or FireFox browsers.
What Learning Management Systems (LMS) do you support?
VProctor is not integrated with any LMS at this time – your exams can be in Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle or any other LMS running in a browser window.
How do I download VProctor Software on my computer?
Your instructor is given a link to a VProctor Student Page that is already configured to work with your course. If you are an instructor and do not have the link, please send an email to [email protected] and we will send you a course-specific link.
Do I have to be the administrator to install the VProctor Software?
You do not need to be an administrator, but you must have permission to install new software on your computer. VProctor should be installed by the student who plans to take an exam. At this time we do not support installation for "all users".
I have previously installed VProctor, how do I get an updated version?
The software will automatically check for updates when you launch the VProctor program. If needed it will download and install a new version. Up to date versions of the program will always be available on your course's VProctor student page.
How quickly can I expect a response from live support during an exam?
Live support should respond within minutes, if not sooner. If all live support agents are busy, you may be asked to leave message.
